R e l a t e d E m p l o y m e n t

Co-Director and Co-Founder

Feminist Works Program , Valencia, CA, 2014- present

Developing, administering, and fundraising two part program that offers substantial fellowships to artists who engage feminism in their work and life and provides feminist events and programing for CalArts and the larger LA arts community. In this position I successfully pursued individual and institutional donors to raise $50,000 to sustainably fund the program for the next five years.  This program was designed to make a feminism an ingrained part of the infrastructure at CalArts.  The program was developed and implemented in reaction to a controversial, publicly known  rape case at CalArts..

Anti-Rape Activist

CalArts, Valencia, CA, 2014-2015

In reaction to a poorly handled rape case, I worked with other students to organize the largest protest in the history of CalArts. A school wide walk out, occupation of the administrative wing, and community meeting drew hundreds and began critical conversations of the communities personal and cultural relationships with rape culture. As an organizer I also worked to coordinate press coverage and  write literature for outreach.  Through this work I helped to found and lead a an unprecedented shared governance task force on sexual respect and design, petition funding for, and hire a sexual respect advocate for the school.

Artist’s Assistant

Ashley Hunt, Los Angeles, CA 2014-present

Researching and cataloging information on US prisons, jails, and detention centers.  In this position I use my knowledge of the prison industrial complex to piece together a  complete profile of facilities from disparate sources.  This work requires investigative work,  reading through legal reports, and maintaining a carefully organized database.

Graduate Teaching Assistant

California Institute of the Arts, Valencia , CA, 2014-2015

Assisting Ashley Hunt, Sune Woods, and Andrew Freeman with teaching and administration for the freshman photography seminar and critique classes.   This position included administrative and organizational duties, preparing for and helping to teach classes,  meeting with students one-on-one to help them with their work, and helping to curate two class shows.

Photography Teacher

In-Sight Photography Project, Brattleboro, VT, 2010-2013

Designing and implementing curriculums  for analog and digital photography classes for at-risk  11-18 year olds, regardless of their ability to pay.  In addition to teaching these classes at the In-Sight Facility, I also worked with local schools and traveled to different area facilities, including a mental health hospital,  to provide photography classes for teens.
